On behalf of the distinguished editorial board of the Research Reports, it is a great pleasure to invite you to serve as Lead Guest Editor for a special issue of your choice within the subject area of the journal, for the Editor-in-Chief’s approval. The topic of the special issue should be broad to attract a good number of submissions. Please include your CV and scope of your selected topic, a list of names & affiliations of contributing authors, titles of proposed articles, and a tentative deadline. The number of expert contributions includes ten articles for a full- thematic issue and five articles for a mini-thematic issue. Such special thematic issues are very widely read and receive higher citations compared to the regular journal issues published.
Research Reports (RR) journal publishes high-quality peer-reviewed articles. The journal publishes reviews, full-length original research articles, short articles, case reports, short commentary and communication of immediate scientific significance related to all areas of Chemistry and Life Sciences. These areas include but not limited to the mechanisms of mammalian cell growth and differentiation, a discovery of tumor suppressor genes, oncogenes, genetic and genomic instability, cell cycle regulation, angiogenesis, hypoxia and the molecular basis of metastasis. Also, studies involving miRNA expression, gene expression, genome-wide and functional genomics approaches in at-risk populations or in tumors or tumor stem cells are also welcomed. The overall aim of this journal is to publish high quality, high impact and innovative research articles in all areas of cancer research and cancer therapy.
The publisher will extend the following offers to the contributors of the journal.
No publication charges.
Quick processing and publication of the submitted papers.
Editorial support to the Guest Editor of thematic issues.
Manuscript may be submitted online at Research Reports
We are looking forward to your acceptance to serve as Lead Guest Editor.

The Special Issue on “Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma†will cover articles on signal transduction, pathology, biomarkers, genetics, therapeutic agents, proteomics and metabolomics in HNSCC which will enable broadening the knowledge on oncogenic mechanisms of the disease.Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is a common malignancy worldwide arising from various regions of upper-aero digestive tract and oral cavity. It is the sixth most common cancer worldwide. Tobacco consumption (both smoking and smokeless form), excessive alcohol intake viral infections, and poor oral hygiene are the principal etiological factors in the development of oral cancer. Exposure to these carcinogens leads to genetic alterations/genomic scaring, epigenetic alterations and proteomic and metabolomic alterations. Though multiple studies have elucidated on the molecular mechanisms of HNSCC yet the heterogeneous nature of the disease has hindered the identification of specific targets and development of targeted therapeutics for this group of tumours. Radio resistance and resistance to other targeted therapies remains a cause of poor prognosis. With the advancement of immune oncology and microbiome, there is unmet need in understanding the tumor microenvironment, role of tumor immunity and relationship between the oral microbiome and HNSCC.
